about

A Few More Years Shall Role- In 1955 my Granddad Ernest Sparkman took a reel-to-reel tape recorder to Litt Car in Knott County to record his parents. They belonged to the Old Regular Baptist Church. This church has a long tradition of singing hymns in an unusual style called “lined out hymnody.” Despite floods, fires and relocation, my family preserved this recording. Thanks to modern technology, I was able to sing with them despite the fact that they died long before I was born.
